Key Trends from Milan 2025

Key trends from Salone del Mobile 2025 include a focus on organic shapes and curves, the revival of classic materials and textures, and a celebration of colour and light. Specifically, rounded furniture, vibrant glass and acrylic, and bold material juxtapositions were prominent.

As the design industry continues to evolve, identifying clear trends becomes more challenging. However, one noticeable direction is the rise of neutral colours and earthy tones, reflecting a desire to connect interior spaces with nature while at the same time adding warmth and texture.

Organic Shapes & Curves

Curved furniture, including rounded sofas and sculptural armchairs, emerged as a defining trend, signalling a shift towards softer, more nature-inspired design aesthetics. This movement emphasises comfort, fluidity, and a harmonious connection between form and function.

Soft Pastels & Contemporary Forms

Designers embraced a palette of muted pastels—such as peach, blush pink, and cerulean blue—often paired with warm neutrals like cream, sand, and mocha. These hues were applied to matte fabrics like bouclé, silk, and linen velvet, exuding tranquillity and understated elegance.

Celebration of Colour & Light

Designers are pushing boundaries by layering unexpected colours & textures, embracing a blend of whimsy and sophistication, with playful pieces meeting refined details. The centennial of the Art Deco movement was also celebrated with geometric shapes, and luxurious materials.

Earthy Tones

Designers showcased a spectrum of earthy hues—sand, ecru, cream, and rope tones—creating serene and refined environments. These neutral shades were complemented by richer accents like mocha mousse (Pantone’s Colour of the Year), deep browns, burgundy, terracotta, and brick, adding depth & a touch of nature, without overwhelming the senses.

Other stand out pieces…

Inspired by the Baobab tree, the Baobab side chair & armchair capture the essence of human experience through design. Rooted in nature, its forms reflect the tree’s organic structure—simple yet bold, blending raw beauty with a sculptural presence.

The Champ stool is a playful, mushroom-inspired piece. Its padded form ensures comfort, while a metal ring provides a practical grip and a distinctive design detail. Available in either matching or contrasting colours, the ring adds a bold or subtle touch to suit a variety of styles. The stool will be launched alongside its coordinating side table for a cohesive look.

Aurea’s wide, handcrafted backrest enhances the natural grain of ash wood, turning each piece into a story of texture and sophisticated details. The embracing lines of the backrest offer comfort, while the softness of the seat invites guests to relax in style. Aurea blends traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary design, conceived for environments where aesthetics and functionality come together in perfect harmony.
